These bamboo handle crochet hooks are our favourite!  Very comfortable to hold and has a super smooth steel hook that is easy on the fingers.  We recommend this hook for beginners as it makes crocheting your dreadlocks a breeze.

Available in 2 sizes:

  • 0.6 mm
  • 0.75 mm

0.6 mm is the most common size used and is great for creating and maintaining dreadlocks using the traditional crochet method.  

0.75 mm is slightly larger and will grab more hair at a time making it more suitable for the 'hair wrapping' crochet method.

Be gentle!!

I was only able to use my hook for the one maintenance and it snapped 😭 user error of course, but I also had to glue the hook in when it first arrived, so I suggest going extremely careful with it and not going too fast and hard 😬

Yes, when performing crochet maintenance it should always be done using a gentle technique. Crocheting in a rough manner can be damaging to dreadlocks aswell as the hook. Snapping of a hook definitely indicates too much force. I will PM you about your comment of having to glue in the hook on arrival - sounds like you may have received a faulty one.

I purchased the bamboo handle crochet hook 0.6 for hubby for home dread maintenance and it’s the perfect size and does the job well, handle has a comfortable grip he is very happy with it
